5 Questions to help you find your purpose

STUCK

It’s the word my clients use THE MOST when they come to me.

“I don’t know what to do.” “

“I don’t know what I should be doing.”

“I’M STUCK.”

But here’s the thing - Life is too damn short for you to wander through it, feeling dazed and confused because you don’t know what you should be doing.

You were created ON PURPOSE, FOR PURPOSE, WITH PURPOSE.

Stop trying to find your purpose

If you were a good student in school, you’re really good at finding answers - OUTSIDE OF YOU

WHICH IS EFFING YOU UP IN THE PURPOSE DEPARTMENT

This is also why I’m not a fan of career assessments.

There is no test that is going to tell you what lights you up, sets your soul on fire, and makes you feel excited to get out of bed every morning.

So the bad news is - You won’t FIND your purpose because it’s not OUT THERE.

I found your purpose!

Most of us have been conditioned to tune OUT our own truth.

We’ve been taught to find the answers in books, podcasts, school, teachers, and crowdsourcing random people on the internet.

And we’ve been taught that those people know better than us. Which is, frankly, bullshit.

We’ve learned to second-guess ourselves.Okay, this is where I channel the Family Movie Life Lessons (there’s a reason The Wizard of Oz, Moana, Elsa, and all those other movies have the exact same takeaway). Ready? Spoiler alert:

  • THE ANSWER IS ALREADY WITHIN YOU

  • IT’S NOT WHAT YOU DO, IT’S WHO YOU ARE

  • WHEN YOU ACCEPT AND EMBRACE WHO YOU ARE, MAGIC HAPPENS

It’s like you’ve been looking for your sunglasses when they’ve been on your head the whole time.

Stop looking outside of you and look in the mirror.

But how in God’s green earth do I find MY purpose?

A friend of mine once said, “We have multiple sources of wisdom and the brain is the stupidest one.”

So one of the most powerful exercises you can do to tune INTO your own wisdom is to ask questions.

AND THEN ANSWER THEM. (I’m yelling because I love you and also if you’re like me, your first answer is usually “I don’t know” - which isn’t at all helpful)

So, now after that lengthy preamble, let’s get to what you really came here for.

5 Questions to help you find your purpose:

  1. What’s the idea I can’t stop thinking about?

  2. If I knew I couldn’t mess up, what would I do?

  3. Where am I holding back from going all-in?

  4. Where am I choosing short-term comfort over long-term fulfillment?

  5. What choice will propel me toward an inspiring future vs. keeping me stuck in the past?

It’s time to live on purpose.

With purpose.

You’re ready.
